11. Couldn't be a freeper ... here's why:
1. Colleges are a bastion of liberalism

2. They couldn't get in, because all them liberal minorities got all the places due to all the breaks and "affirmative action"

and finally ...

3. They're freepers ... duh! You think they'd have the IQ to get into college?

Now, it might have been a freeper who THOUGHT (???) that they should have qualified on a minority scholarship because they're in the oppressed "majority" race ...

3. Well MSNBC interviewed a student who said the
guy was Asian. Since the guy was wearing a cap I assume he means Chinese/Japenese/Korean but he is an American born kid according to MSNBC.

9. ummm... just for context..
The first posting I read this morning an hour or so before any of this occurred was along the lines of "get ready for the distraction" in reference to Gonzalas...

10. Because, ideally, the news should only carry one news item.
All other "news" is orchestrated to keep us from thinking of politics. Sleep....sleep...

let's not pretend the media's not going to exploit the hell out of this story, long after it stopped being news.

22. It's not news, it's "Breaking News".
These news fads are characterized as "breaking news" for days and days after the original event, presumably to justify the saturation coverage. Meanwhile, real "breaking news" is ignored so we can hear another breathless report on how there have been no new developments at VT in the last ten minutes, delivered as we watch endless loops of the same 30 seconds of cell-phone video.

I'm so proud of our media.

6. Heh.
He gets smacked down a bit later in that thread:

To: Red Badger
I’m just wondering if it’s a “muslim”..........

Probably an illegal immigrant muslim who doesn't have a driver's license.

But of course, it's far more likely to be some asshole who can't accept that he's been dumped by a girl.

15. Probably about as many...
Probably about as many posts as took for one of our own to speculate if the shooter were a conservative.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but when it comes to the hot-topic issues (guns, gays and God), we've got our own share who will sacrifice sorrow over the deceased for political oneupmanship.

16. Well it only took 42 posts on DU for someone
to suggest it was a "RW whacko after the liberal elite" so I wouldn't exactly get on a high horse on this issue. Seeems to be human nature to stupidly suggest and blame those that a particular group considers suspect. Unfortunately it also seems to be human nature to slaughter your fellow humans from time to time.

21. God I love the internet
Where else can someone make a joke about the deaths of 160 plus people and get away with it. I personally give you a two handed one finger each applause. How's that for funny?

24. That site has the most poorly designed message board I've ever seen.
It's horrible. No organization of posts, bland fonts, just a jumble of plain text.

Poor dears are design-challenged on top of everything else.
