What about this Massachusetts Pandemic Flu
Bill? I haven't seen any posts on this. Is it another right wing exaggeration or is it real? From what I see and have heard in the event of a Flu Pandemic it basically grants Martial Law to the authorities. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFBxImMXHkg

Swine Flu is a plot by Obama to kill us off. But he also says there is no way he will take a flu shot he doesn't trust Obama the shot may kill him. I kid you not, is this crazy or what. Another thing has the guy all worked up is the census, he claims he will not let the census taker on his property. He claims they want to know personal information like how many people live in your house and other things. I tried to explain to him it is just to find out the population makeup and it helps determine who will get federal funds and it's been done every 10 years since the nation began. There is no explaining it to him, he is convinced that is also some sinister plot from Obama. This guy lives by Faux news and talk radio, those a--holes like Beck actually have these people going nuts.

6. Just whisper quietly to him that he's correct.
The fewer Republicans who get vaccinated, the better.

5. Here's the deal: if people start dropping dead in the street, the
Health Commissioner might decide it's time for everyone to get vaccinated. If you don't want to get vaccinated, the Health Commissioner might tell you to stay in quarantine lest you expose other people. If you break quarantine, then you might be fined. If people are dropping dead n the street, the Health Commissioner might also enter your house or establishment (nursing home) to see if you have infected people who are a threat to others.

The bill doesn't actually say "people dropping dead in the street", but that's the sense of it. The bill attempts to put in place the procedures that would be needed inthe event of a major outbreak.

of non compliant tuberculosis patients and those laws are used.

That's why Boston has a very low incidence of drug resistant TB among its homeless population.

Public health quarantine laws can be a damned nuisance, but there's a good reason for them. They're only invoked when there is a serious threat to public health and safety.
