Great discussion on the death of Conservatism on Bill Moyers
Digging deep into the roots and evolution of the American conservative movement, Sam Tanenhaus talks with Bill Moyers about why he believes that conservatism is dead and how it might yet come back to life.

The government subsidizes capitalism in America. Good on you Sam Tanenhaus.

2. I think the movement is dying, but very dangerous.
Most people who call themselves conservatives have taken it to an element of extremism. That leads to the death of what they fancy themselves.

4. Every DUer must watch this
They got a clean slate following 9/11 after the Supremes gave Bush the victory and they were able to do whatever they wanted. They failed and conservatism as an ideology is dead. Perfect.

Conservatives have many mouths but very few ears. They never listen.

current paradigm and the motives of the radical right.

9. State of the Unions now
With public support for labor unions at its lowest point in 70 years, Bill Moyers talks with experts Bill Fletcher, co-author of SOLIDARITY DIVIDED: THE CRISIS IN ORGANIZED LABOR AND A NEW PATH TOWARD SOCIAL JUSTICE and Michael Zweig, director of the Center for the Study of Working Class Life at SUNY Stony Brook, about the state of organized labor.

10. It's a good show tonight.
I wish Moyers got more exposure than he does, but he's probably happy with his arrangement at PBS.

11. Don 't forget it is Moyers who raises many of the serious issues
and he always has superb guests. Wendell Potter exposed the criminality of hte Health Care industry on the Journal before he made it to the rest of M$Greedia.

12. What a STUPID shit!
Verbal diarrhea, doesn't know when to stop talking! Moyers should just tell him to STFU and have the men in white coats put him in a padded cell.

15. His 'interest in conservatives'
All I see here is a toddler who is fascinated with dirty diapers and puts his hands in them and smears shit on the walls. Just as you slap the toddler's hands and put him on a time-out while you clean up, the same needs to be done with Tanenhaus. If his claim to fame is a biography of Whittaker Chambers, he's spent too much time in the outhouse and has gotten delirious from the fumes. Not every thick book with lots of footnotes and obscure details is scholarly -- some of it is just stupid bullshit.
