I decided to do some research into how much the government gives health industries with OUR tax dollars. Now here's my rant: Since the government provides some of these companies with R&D then why can't we as Americans be able to benefit from these discoveries that we already have paid for with our tax dollars. Why do we even need Insurance at all. Insurance companies really don't provide any real benefits. Americans pay huge amounts of money for coverage (yet unless someone is really really sick) then the insurance companies make out like bandits with the cost of premiums. We keep hearing about their administrative costs, but what about us. We're paying for services that we can't afford, just so the CEO's can live a privileged lifestyle. But what about us, perhaps we would also like to live like that as well. Even if we can't come close to living like that at least we wouldn't be paying for them to live so lavishly.
I think if the government is already using OUR tax dollars then we already have a form of government health care, only it isn't helping the tax payers one bit. If the government is paying for the equipment for the hospitals, doctors, insurance, technology, then shouldn't we be allowed to benefit from it without having to buy health insurance. I mean WE already paid for it with OUR tax dollars.
As you can see above the government gives a lot of companies handouts. To see the list of companies check out the link provided. After you go to the link and see the list of companies, click on their names and you can get a summary of what OUR tax dollars are funding.
