The people they paid to register people were often not very professional. Filling out the forms wrong, trying to take our completed forms for their tally (they were paid per registration). Dumping all the forms on the clerk's office so late that many of the registrations weren't processed.

These experiences did not leave me with a good impression of the organization.

I appreciate that they cooperate with authorities every time some of their workers break the law, but this is becoming too common. They need to take better steps to screen people who seek to work for them.

Having known people who used to work for ACORN, they all tell me the same thing: they are well-intentioned, but very amateurish, inefficient and sloppy.
