Lindsay Graham: Obama speech beneath dignity of office
Graham, however, also criticized Obama.

"I was incredibly disappointed in the tone of his speech," Graham said. "At times I found his tone to be overly combative and believe he behaved in a manner beneath the dignity of the office. I fear his speech tonight has made it more difficult - not less - to find common ground."

6. "I'm G. W. Bush. Now pull my finger..."
dignity of the office my arse. I was unimpressed with the proposal, but the speech itself was better than any speech Bush ever gave. Ever.

24. I saw that.
Lindsey spreading the hands then--when he realized no one on his side of the aisle was going to applaud common sense--bringing them together in the ol' hand-wipe ploy. Highly arious!

15. His predecessor took a GIANT DUMP on the dignity of the office by telling 1000 lies in his '03 SOTU
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 11:01 AM by kenny blankenship
Remember that tall tale George W. Bush told the world about all of Saddam's weapons of mass destruction ? Remember the thousands of this and tens thousands of that --the VX, the botulinin, the yellow cake, the aluminum tubes and the "nukyukur" capacity? January 28th, 2003: a day that will live in infamy. Because of that Hitlerian episode, the "dignity of the office" you're so concerned about may never recover in our lifetimes.

Go fuck yourself, Lindsey.

18. Graham cracker's comments were written in 1978: same old GOP line.
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 10:50 AM by Democrats_win
Only with a different president in mind. That's an old GOP strategy to say that the Democrat is undignified. Then Ronnie Reagan with his angry bag of manure, including lies about Welfare queens, supposedly brought dignity to the office.

Republicans continue to pull this sh*t day after day, year after year, decade after decade. Enough!

21. And I wonder what planet does this idiot Senator live on?
Hell I wonder what speech he was listening to because only if Obama said "we're gonna ram HR676 right up your asses" then I see absolutely nothing that could have possibly been taken as "combative".

Asshat supreme.

22. This is just more in the ever-growing stack of proofs that...
...there IS NO meeting the other side on 'common ground'. Yet President Obama seems insistent on working with his 'Republican Friends' (quote from last night) on these bills. I realize that the catchphrase 'bi-partisan' is something everyone pays lip service to, but why the HELL are we the only party that actually takes the time to try and get it, sacrificing not just our political goals but the PEOPLE THOSE GOALS WOULD HELP along the wayside with it?! It's goddamn infuriating!

Everywhere I look these days all I see are these batshit crazy Republicans talking about how they wanna 'take back their country' and 'you damn liberals will be hiding in caves next time we get power' and 'we're going to hunt you down' and 'its time to water the tree'. And people expect us to take a civil tone with these barbarian bastards! FUCK THEM! :grr:

OBAMA'S tone was a disappointment?! Yet these ignorant fuckers and their sycophants are showing up at speeches with military-grade combat weaponry and talking about killing liberals? WTF?!?!
