I Hereby Call for Congress to Censure Rep. Joe Wilson
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 12:09 AM by berni_mccoy
For calling the President a Liar in an address to a Joint Session of Congress and treating the President in an Undeservedly Disrespectful manner, I hereby call on Congress to immediately Censure Rep. Joe Wilson.

All those in agreement, say "Aye".

Yes, see here (link)

And yes, his cafeteria privileges should be revoked as well, along with any committee assignments he might have.

11. We can have both. Most Censures are followed very soon by a resignation.

24. I say we leave it alone and let his own party ....
take care of it. Let them own it. If we keep this ratcheted up it will backfire big time. It's already getting too much attention and taking away from the importance of the speech and the issue of health care reform as it is.

Another puke has embarrassed himself and his party. Wow, imagine that. Let it go. Let SC deal with him. I scanned some of the columbia papers this am, and he is really being skewered, in fact he's sharing the heat on the front pages right along side the disgraced sanford.

I say we stand back and just let 'em all keep imploding. They don't need our help, it just allows them to distract from their own issues and turn it back on us when we get involved.

25. I completely disagree. People need to come to Obama's defense on this and stop the angry rhetoric
against the President. This kind of insane response to the President has gone on far too long and is getting dangerous. Congress needs to show a heavy hand here to shut it down and start to put an end to Congressmen who are inciting their constituents into a frenzy against the President.

27. If we do that, then it allows them to frame the discussion as...
the dems are shutting down free speech, the dems did the same thing to bush and blah blah blah and so on and so forth. The discussion then becomes about them as the injured party, when nothing could be further from the truth. We've been playing into their slimy little hands for far too long.

The best way to handle these people is with eye rolls and smirks. Let them do their own selves in, instead of jumping into the fray and allowing them to continue hijacking and distorting the real issues.

28. And if we don't, we look weak and appear cowering to their claimed 'truthful' statement.

They will take this as a win back to their base. Believe me, he won't lose his seat because of this. If anything, the racist pigs who support him will rally around him for it.
