6. Sure, but it's all just symbolic manipulation
whether it's numerals, animals, nuts or houses. We just have to agree upon interpretation of symbols for effective communication.

8. I'd give the student an A in the class, just for creativity.
Never mind that he/she got it right.

I had a graduate level linguistics class way back when...the professor was an incredible bore. He also had some weird linguistic theories of his own that he was trying out on the class on the road to writing a book. I thought the theories were incorrect, so, when he assigned a paper around midterm, I took his theories and drove them to absurdity in my paper. The paper was perfectly logical, well-written, but ended up making a mockery of his theories.

To his credit, the guy gave me an A+ on the paper, and we had a long discussion about it. I was something of a troublesome grad student.

10. That is AWESOME.
As was said above, the variables are defined, and it's all just symbolic manipulation anyway, so...

I said it in my head while I grade, but I never thought about actually writing that on a student's paper.
