in the past, we were able to more often. not so defensive and ready to be snarky. maybe even listened to each other

the crowds on du and atmosphere as a whole on the net has shifted to uncivility... snarky combacks, positions held.

du is unique, because there are so many people, so well put together, excellent mods and easy to read and lots of lattitude.... the opportunities are here.

17. I'm kinda new and that bothers me too.

I lurked for not quite a year before signing up. I do see really good discussions on here but I also feel like just in the short time I've been here I see more threads than I used to that end up with rudeness and judgemental comebacks instead of persuasion and information and discussion. Not all the time, but more than what I saw when I first found DU (thanks to the bosses daughter that tortures me with Hannity every day).

I thought it was the primaries, but even though it's calmed down some, it's still at a higher level that in was prior. IMHO.
