You don't compromise
with people who scream pejoratives at a woman in a wheelchair, while she's trying to make a public case for healthcare reform to her elected representative.

You don't compromise with private healthcare companies that seek only to perpetuate their bloated beauracracies to the detriment of the welfare of the people they are supposed to serve.

You don't compromise with people (and the elected officials who represent them) who bring firearms to supposedly peaceful townhall meetings.

You don't compromise with politicians who take enormous sums of money in donations from the healthcare corporations they seek to legislatively protect.

You don't compromise by propogating the myth that incremental change is somehow historic or worthy of great praise.

You don't compromise with American history. History that tells us that this country has always been virulently at battle with itself and that the leaders who have succeeded have been the ones who recognized that and who fought passionately for THEIR SIDE and didn't attempt to straddle and appease both.

What you do is you stand for something with courage and unwavering resolution.

What you do, if you want to have even a remote shot at a transformative presidency, is you wage unrelenting, partisan war.

3. This means preparing a primary fight for every blue dog.
Which means money.

It means commercials showing happy ill people in foreign lands, free of worry and getting care.

We need to tell people how the systems work in each of those countries. Then ask them which they think would work best here. Treat the insurance companies as the parasites they are.

And be sure to run ads detailing the salaries of health care executives.

Go for blood before they get all of ours.

6. If any challenger ran those ads now, the Corporate (D)s would turn on their masters...
and vote for Medicare 4 All (or some bullshit compromise that looks good on the surface) simply to stay in power. The challengers would need yet another issue to beat them over the head with for the rest of the year.

Once those seats in Congress are at risk, they'd start acting like actual Democrats - but only as much as they'd need to in order to keep their fat asses in those seats.

7. You've got a point, to compromise is to enable and validate this behavior.
A long time ago I had to learn about personal boundaries, when someone else cannot or will not set healthy boundaries, you have to do so yourself. We have to recognize where to set boundaries, treat everyone with compassion, stay calm, and do the right thing.
