My theory on the US Attorneys scandal for what its worth
The Bush administration were never that concerned about firing the US Attorneys. Heck, if they can start an illegal war causing hundreds of thousands of deaths and get away with it the US Attorney scandal is minor stuff.

What the White House is concerned about is that they were hiding stuff from Fitzgerald about outing a covert CIA agent and are now scared to death Fitzgerald is going to indict every last one of them.

The weak link here is Libby. He is going to cooperate with Fitzgerald if evidence comes out that he and others hid stuff from him.

Thats what I think.

2. So if they weigh all of their options, Bush has to pardon Libby?

To make all of this go away.

4. How Does Pardoning Libby Make All This Go Away For *?.......
It seems to me in a Libby pardon now - the only one that benefits is Libby. The dastardly deed has still been done. Pardoning Libby shouldn't preclude Fitz going after Rove, Cheney and even *.
