In Honor Of Senator Ted Kennedy, Today I Will . . .

Visit someone in a nursing home. Tomorrow I will pick up trash along the road. On Monday I will prepare a special lesson on Ted Kennedy and his legacy for my elementary students. I hope I can inspire them as Teddy inspired me to dedicate my life to public service. On Tuesday I will (hopefully) plant a seed in my students.:patriot:

1. For starters: I will stop letting the bastards get me down!

From there, all else is possible.

There will be a better effort to:

listen with a more balanced ear

take more notice of the many elements of joy

be a better friend

speak softly when speaking to tender ears

thunder like the very hurricane when speaking to hate and intolerance

have a whiskey more often than I have previously allowed myself
