I could not watch another funeral I have been to so many of my friends being gay I have been to so many funerals of those who have died of AIDS, in March and April of 95 I went to 15 funerals of friends that had died from HIV or complications of.
I can't bear any more , that 15 was just 2 months out of the last 25 years that I have buried almost every friend I have.
I have been on the verge of tears since I had heard that Ted Kennedy had passed.
It is truly the end of an era, if not a better time at least a time where some of the privileged felt an obligation to pay back to the country and society that let them reach the heights they could and did.

are for ratings and opportunities for corporate spin. If you can't go there or follow some neutral internet feed, boycott this usurped national liturgy of media mourning entirely and do something truly authentic in Kennedy's memory. The latter does not take much imagination.

We don't need to stomach hypocrites horning in on the funeral as we try to let the media wash into our passive minds like dissonant Gregorian chant and racking sulfurous incense clouds. If I knew a grasping bunch of limelight relations were stealing the show with crocodile tears- and couldn't be tossed- I would make the visit short and private. I have seen too many suffocating media funerals to ever think they did anything except bury the soul and prop the status quo so many of them fought. If I want to watch vampires of the dead sucking out or sucking up to a person's legacy I would tune in to the Chiller channel for something less offensive and stomach curdling.

The cameras and mikes do not belong in their hands, nor the offerings of our viewership ratings.
