If you are fat and someone who has struggled with substance abuse addiction, but you are a decent person then I think most people will treat you with compassion. Betty Ford was an addict. But she never said 'take the bone out of your nose' one minute then said the black president was a racist the next.

I've known teetotalers who didn't use drugs or look at a woman other than their wives. Some of them were complete jerks and some were decent people. I've known people mired in a morass of human frailty. Same thing. Some were decent, some were a waste of the oxygen they used.

I personally don't like much of the posts calling him a junkie as I've been one myself and I'm still one in small ways(caffeine, nicotine, thc). It is his blackened soul, I can take oxycontin but still be a liberal, think the republicans are full of shit, etc. I'll just be a liberal and high. He is an asshole but no amount of drugs or lack of drugs changes that. He's just an asshole that happens to be high.

8. I think Rush hates himself as much as he hates others.

He's just a miserable person. You'd have to be. He's overweight, an addict, a loud mouth, he tells lies to his listeners, he's all hate and no compassion.

He has to look at himself in the mirror every day. Perhaps deep down inside he knows he's not right, but he either can't do anything about it, or won't do anything about it. Maybe it's due to fear, maybe he hates others because he hates himself so much.

I don't know anything about his history, and don't care to find out, but something happened to make him this way. Perhaps he was abused, perhaps someone said something horrible to him that's stuck with him all these years (he may not even remember himself).

When people are this vicious, this full of hatred toward others, it's usually because they have bigger issues with themselves, and they can't/won't deal with it.

I don't listen to him, his voice is like fingernails screeching on a chalkboard to me.

The only time I've seen him on TV is on Countdown, and he really shouldn't jiggle around like that. What were they chanting? "Rush - Rush - Rush - Rush"? That's kind of disturbing. :shrug:
