The Blinking Red ADvertisement
The blinking "Human Rights Campaign" ad makes it nearly impossible to read the Greatest Page. Please, this type of in-your-face distraction causes me to despise clicking on the page and marginalizes the integrity of DU. One cannot read a full sentence without having their eyes dart across the page.

If there must be gaudy banner ads "above-the-fold", can they at least be limited to static ads?

6. More here: Click on "Exceptions" and block the image source URL
Works for me.

Here is the URL you want to block:

http://i.blogads.com/

Let me know if it works.

4. How about give us all a break and turn the blinking off rather
than make us all have to jump through hoops?

Thanks for the tip though.

BTW, I rec"d this and it didn't work. Hmmm....Satan?

7. More...
In the options window let load images automatically stay selected, then select "exceptions" and block this site:

http://i.blogads.com/

That's the source of the annoying image.

5. Opera > right click > block content
Then either click on the ad (to block everything from that domain) or shift-click on it (to block just that ad).

This is why I prefer Opera to all other browsers. No other one gives me the option to block just the annoying moving ads. I'm like you - if something's moving on the page it totally destroys my ability to read anything else on the page. I love me some Opera!
