A bush admin appointee getting an expanded mandate. Not a fresh guy ready to do the job. He was named because of his familiarity with the shit he cov...... er .... investigated after Mukasey appointed him.

and Mukasey having appointed him for that investigation, well, I don't know. I know he has a very good reputation among his peers. A friend of mine at Justice vouched for that, and said Durham's as apolitical as they come.

That said, the parameters of his investigation are so narrow as to be laughable. It's all about getting the lower level folks, while Addington, Bybee, Yoo, Gonzales, Ashcroft - they're all beyond the reach of this investigation.

It's a joke.............
