President Obama needs to tell the truth.
President Obama needs to go on prime-time television and be honest with us all.

He needs to say the following:

My fellow Americans:

I see that my poll numbers are down because of my championship of health-care reform.

I'm tired of the fight. Therefore, I will give you what it seems that you want, as elucidated by the rightwing rabble-rousers who have been getting so much time devoted to them on the national news lately.

Here's the deal. You don't want the federal government involved in health care? Fine. I'll give you what you want. First thing tomorrow morning, I'm canceling Medicare and Medicaid.

The government will no longer have anything to do with health care.

Are you happy now? Get back to me six months from now and tell me how much you like it, being free from The Government. Isn't that what you said you want?

In return for giving you what you say you want, I ask for only one thing:

The truth.

Yes, I'm calling you out. All you rightwing sheep, every one of you who forms his or her opinion of the day based on what Rush Limpballs tells you to believe over the AM radio airwaves each morning.

Yes, indeed. Calling you out, and throwing down on you. I'll cancel Medicare and Medicaid, if you'll go on the national airwaves and admit the stone truth:

The REAL reason why you "want me to fail;" the REAL reason you have whipped up this bogus "opposition to healthcare reform" by your sheepish followers, is Simon-pure, unalloyed, copper-plated RACISM. All I ask is that you be honest, for one time, and admit it.

I know, you know, and we ALL know that's what is at the heart of this "debate." You simply CANNOT stand the idea that a half-African man was elected to be President of the United States of America.

So let's be honest here. You'll get what you want from me, if you'll tell the truth.

Do we have a deal? You admit that the basis of your "teabaggery" is racism, and you'll get what you want politically.

And then you get to live with it.

God bless America, and God help us all.

Selah.

President Barack H. Obama.

Begin flameage now, if you wish.

1. My dear Redstone!
No flameage from me!

This is exactly where those right-wing teabaggers are. It's racism, pure and simple.

It was bad enough that they LOST...they lost to a Black man. They cannot stand it, and this is where their frustrations are going.

Plus the Republicans can't stand that he wants to reform health care. It hurts them that he might actually succeed.

K&R

Good to see you on the board once again!

4. Actually, this rant started by a discussion between me and Mrs R (who, as you know,
is half-African) tonight.

She furnishes me with SO many insights that I'd not have ad otherwise...

2. It's not just that he's not "White" it's also because they hate even the remotest possibility
that even just the tiniest little bit of their money might go to "Blacks" or anyone else they judge as un-worthy. Many people are the complete opposite of anything Christian.

My mispelling was because I spent some time speaking German with a friend last night.

So it goes.

5. And VA
The reality, though, is that I think most people who do benefit from government programs are not among the rabble rousers. But, as often happens, the few create the image that they are in the majority.

Medicaid, for example, is for poor people who are too busy trying to make a living and feeding their families to come to these town hall meetings.

8. Nice rant..... but you do realize that no President has the power to "cancel" Medicare or Medicaid
Our system doesn't work that way.

He's a President, not a dictator.

Even if he wanted to, he couldn't cancel those programs.

11. Well... another problem with your rant is that NOTHING could ever make conservatives tell the truth
...not even Baby Jesus coming down from heaven and telling them to.

13. But, how nicely it would mess with their minds.
We should just, maybe, start a rumor?

14. The Internet is a perfect place to start rumors. Excellent idea; let's see where
we can take it from here. I'm counting on you to start spreading it.
