My dad gave me a 20 gauge shotgun for my 12th birthday. It was a single shot break away, problem was the firing pin stuck out a bit too much, the first time I tried to use it I put a shell in it and when I closed it it went off. Scared the crap out of me. Since then I try to avoid guns.
