COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The author of Colorado's Taxpayer Bill of Rights amendment has been arrested in Colorado Springs on a misdemeanor trespassing charge.

Colorado Springs Police say 59-year-old Douglas Bruce and another man were at a Costco store soliciting shoppers on Saturday. Police have not said what they were soliciting for, but the pair was charged with trespassing. snip

Prior to losing a Republican primary in 2008, Bruce made headlines for kicking a photographer on the floor of the House of Representatives and calling migrant workers "illiterate peasants."
