Thousands more will die, tens of thousands more will
file bankruptcy if the insurance industry is pandered to in this bill. When the rubber hits the pavement, is it not as simple as this?

It would be a very good talking point. "Thousands more will DIE if the insurance companies win. Tens of thousands more will file bankruptcy if they win. You COULD be next".

1. Just think of all those expectant mothers who are uninsured or underinsured.

2. Right Now
Over 12,000 uninsured die every year. Why isn't that a talking point??? And as you said, that number is going to grow and grow as a result of this economy.

3. Way more than 8/11. What the REAL threat to America? Lack of health care
or Al-Quaeda? Who are the REAL terrorists within our borders?

5. Ask Anyone You Know
How many people they know died from a terrorist attack? Then ask them how many people they know died from cancer or heart disease? You don't have to be a nuclear physicist to know the answer.

8. 100,000 Americans die per year due to lack of healthcare
That's 273 people dying here per day due to lack of healthcare. We're a barbaric 3rd-world country.

Single-payer FAQs.

For the "omg, you can't do that here" crowd: this link here.

4. Watched the extended features on Sicko dvd last night. Of those who file for personal bankruptcy,
50% file due to the overwhelming cost of a medical or health related event.

75% of that 50% had health insurance at the onset of the medical or health related event that led to bankruptcy.

Having health insurance by no means protects you from losing everything. This is one of the major problems with our current system. The industry makes billions, many yachts are bought, many ceo's get rich, and the insured - the people who pay get screwed.

This has to stop.

10. I Went Bankrupt
in 2000 from medical bills w/o insurance.
I anticipate going bankrupt again in 2010
due to the co-pay totals I have even with insurance.

under bush are a reflection of their actions, we are doomed

7. Don't you get it? They don't CARE if thousands more die. In their
horrorshow world, if you can't afford to buy healthcare, you deserve to die.

the rest of us getting the shaft, somehow we need to convince one of the liberal media people to keep a tally and to announce it on the air every day, much like they do about the death count in the wars. Since they have the resources to do it, they would be the logical choices if they are willing. It's the only way to make our elected leaders face up to what they have done on a daily basis. We really can't let them walk off into the sunset this time.

So why do you think they still don't get it? I thought it would have sunk in by now. So they rather die or see loved ones die due to insurance death panels than admit that Public Health care is an excellent idea.
