if they are stupid and greedy enough to gut the public option
or, even better, remove it altogether, I just hope everybody comes to their senses and opts to PAY THE FINE.

Just effing opt out. If you get a serious disease, unless your one of the elite and powerful, the odds are you will lose everything and die with or without insurance. So why give them your hard-earned $$ in the meantime?

Take the risk. Go on health insurance strike. If they gut healthcare reform, opt out. Vote with your $$.

1. Why not opt out now...
before there's a fine for doing it?

3. I already don't have health insurance
Edited on Sun Aug-09-09 06:21 PM by northernlights
and haven't had it for most of my life.

When I *did* have it, they left me to die anyway. I paid for my own health *care* to save my life, and have opted out ever since. Except when I didn't have a choice, due to my employer, in which case I opted for the health insurance that was literally 50 cents/week from my paycheck with a company that never answered the phone when I called to see about naming a "primary physician." For 50 cents a week we *won't* answer the phone (not even voicemail!) -- that was as close to ideal health insurance as I could be forced into buying.

And when push comes to shove, I will pay the effing $1,000 fine to opt out. And I will be pissed as hell about that. Why should I have to pay to be left the fuck alone to live or die on my own. I'm already doing that for free x(

2. Of course "they" are stupid and greedy enough...
"They" are bought and paid for. We are just the stupid people who cast votes to put "them" in office.

The big corporations own our politicians, our media and they seriously believe they own us. (And they are probably right.)

4. Single payer is dead. They are only paying lip service to it.
