The organized frenzy at the townhalls is a tipoff: Health Care Reform is GOING to pass

The fact that the far right reactionaries are coming out in full force is because they know it is close to happening.

- Five of the six congressional committees have completed bills. That never even came close to happening with Hillarycare in '94. Today Obama is meeting with Baucus' committee - the last holdouts.

- Obama has staked his legacy to it passing. The White House will cash in EVERY chit they have to get it through.

- The Democratic leadership in congress has basically had their wagon hitched to it as well, whether they wanted to or not. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi's jobs are now at stake. If they don't get a Health Care Reform bill on Obama's desk this fall, their jobs are toast.

It will pass. What it finally looks like is anyone's guess. But there WILL be a Health Care Reform bill on the President's desk before Halloween. And it will get signed into law.

...it is beyond stopping now.

Keep working... to make sure it looks like what we want it to look like.... but it is GOING to happen. We're just negotiating the final details now.

1. Something called "Health Care Reform" will pass.
But if the public option pays doctors much more than Medicare, then it won't be able to charge much lower premiums than private insurance.

And if the public option is limited to companies with fewer than 25 employees, then it won't offer much competition to private insurance.

2. It won't be perfect, we can accept that now...
but neither was Social Security when it first started.

4. And yet it's still better than having nothing at all...
or maybe some here would argue that that isn't true, either.
