Angry right harasses Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Tex) with anti-health care chants. *VIDEO*
Edited on Mon Aug-03-09 09:22 AM by stevedeshazer
Today, House members are back home to begin their month-long recess. The far right has indicated that they plan to welcome many of their representatives with large, angry throngs (“town halls gone wild”). The corporate lobbyists engineering these “grassroots” efforts have indicated their harassment strategy is to “yell,” “stand up and shout,” and “rattle” the members. Politico reported that Democratic members of Congress are increasingly being confronted by “angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior” at local town halls. This past weekend, Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) was the latest victim of the right’s strategy, where protesters followed him and chanted “just say no” to health care. Watch it: (video @ link)

9. Then you still won't have a debate.
If you have the meetings at peoples homes and the people won't leave, you can call the police.

2. Two can play that game...
It appears that the Repubs have an organized plan to disrupt Democratic representatives? If it gets on TV, they will appear weak and rattled. Anything for the big insurance companies. Let's hope they all have good coverage.

4. They can't win the debate.
The only reason that they would do this is that they know they can't win the debate. They would rather take the hit for obstructing the debate than having one. Almost all of the talking points about the pending legislation is false.

How a smart Representative handles the "memo-people"/disruptors.

Immediately after being introduced, he/she would say:

"Everyone who is on medicare, please stand up". Now sit down. Everyone who is too young to be on medicare, please stand up. Now sit down.

Why did I ask you to do that?

The first group of people who stood up paid into medicare since 1965 (maybe not the correct year) and their payments went to pay for health-care for their parents & grandparents. the second group of people who stood are NOW paying out of their paychecks for the first group's medicare..

Is that socialism? or is it just a generational promise of good citizenship and fair-play?

Let me ask these questions to the 2nd group. Should deductions from your pay stop, so that health-care benefits for the first group could be terminated?

Of course that means that YOU would get nothing in the way of health-care when YOU turn 65 either. How many have a million dollars saved up for health care in their old age?"

"NOW.. for the people who have received the RNC memo, and who are here to disrupt, please step up to the stage.. all together now.. You have 15 minutes to recite your prepared talking points, and then we'll proceed with the town hall meeting."

(assuming that no one steps forward)

Since no one here admits to receiving the disruption orders, or perhaps they were texting or twittering just now, anyone who stands up and shouts anything , will be removed."

then they should start the meeting.

Congress members need to be ready for these clowns and cut their legs out from under them before they get started.

but these wacky "interrupters" need to be called out and exposed for what they are.

Remember the anti-ballot counting mob in Florida? They all turned out to be operatives.

I still think there's potential value in figuring out who these people are. I'm not entirely convinced they are all grassroots people.

Like the Palin rallies. Shown on Youtube and broadcast far and wide. Identify operatives. Shine the light on these cockroaches.

I hope these congresscritters know what's going on and are prepared accordingly.
