The newest opposition to Health Insurance reform...
Why would you what the government in charge of health care when they can't even run cash for clunkers.

These morons are taking the success of cash for clunkers and spinning it as a failure and then using it to attach Health Insurance Reform.

They could sell a bag of shit as gold and the stupid public would buy it.

1. Cash for clunkers is just fine...
However the real question is: After seeing what the pukes did for 8 years, would want them running anything?

To me, it should just be common sense that we wouldn't want people running government who hate government and don't think it does any good because with them in charge it doesn't (intentionally too, I'm sure). I mean, we wouldn't want doctors who don't want to be doctors operating on us, would we? Personally, I believe that serving in government for most Republicans/conservatives is mostly about attaining power or enriching themselves and their cronies. It isn't so much (if at all) about bringing their own unique *vision* for how government should *work* to fruition but more about finding ways to tear government down and divvy up the spoils for their corporate benefactors. Some elements of the conservative movement, such as the religious right don't have problem per se with government per se as long as the government enforces their own religious values and beliefs on the rest of society. Thomas Frank's "The Wrecking Crew" is an excellent book about how conservatives routinely (mis-)manage government whenever they are in power and should be "Exhibit A" for any Democrats running to use against their opponents.

5. Really?
What's wrong with health care in this country? Seems to me the paying for it is the problem, not the care itself.

6. Yeah, it's the delivery system that sucks...
The doctors and nurses, for the most part are working their asses off, trying to overcome the limitations of the system to provide decent care.

15. Not really the delivery system
its the financing system ... however, in this mish mash of a "system" who knows.

I am no "health care expert," but I have researched and studied the problem for several graduate public policy seminars ... Actually, the first time I addressed the problem was in an undergrad. senior seminar some 35 years ago. Back then the question how to get a handle on costs. That's when Kaiser came up with the HMO...which linked the finance and delivery systems but didn't really do anything about costs.

The real "system" that is at the bottom of all of this is the one that needs to be divorced from all the other "systems." You see, we twist and fuse the "systems" without getting to the one that really matters: the profit system.

9. This is the new line
Because Obama is calling it insurance reform, that means he's a "CORPORATE SNAKE OIL SALESMAN" for the insurance companies. Don't ask for the logic of this charge.

8. You must already have really good insurance
One that doesn't deny any coverage and allows your doctor to make the health care decisions.

Because most people who HAVE insurance are bound by the rules set by the corporation behind their insurance. They decide what treatment you are allowed to have under your plan.

Take the decisions out of the corporate board rooms and let the doctors decide what is best for the patient is one piece to correcting the health care problems.

The other is to cover those who who don't have health insurance. You and I are paying for their visits to the emergency rooms through higher medical bills which in turn drive the insurance premiums through the roof.

Insurance companies are like the big oil companies doing what ever it takes to drive profit.

10. Wouldn't changing each of those things constitute insurance reform?
