More Proof that the Republicans are TERRIFIED of their crazy base:
Lindsay Graham was the ONLY Repub on the Judiciary Committee to cast an AYE vote for Sotomayor. The rest are too afraid what Rush & Hannity will say about them. The same way they are bending their knees to the looney birthers.

1. Seems to be so...
Which makes them look incompetent. Well, more than they already are.

3. Exactly. Those cries of "terrorist" and "kill him" in the campaign crowds
are now in the driver's seat. They decide who is "Republican enough". They administer the purity tests.

And they are batshit loop-de-loop out of their goddamn minds!

4. Well, she IS patently unqualified
I mean, she doesn't belong to Bohemia Grove, or the right yacht clubs. Sure, she went to an Ivy League school, but come ON. She graduated summa cum laude; she's a grind. Clearly not someone you could have a beer with. And where's her wife in all this? What is Judge Sotomayor hiding? How do we know she really has served on the federal bench for 17 years? Does she have videotape of every moment of her judicial career? Why the hell not? Let's honor the troops who are killing and dying for our freedom by voting against her for a change?

6. Its the last stage of the "southern strategy" come home to roost.
Pretty soon the whole party will just collapse under its own lunacy.

I can see an eventual split happening after 2012 when they lose the presidency again.

Totally insane on one side and marginally insane on the other.

7. Well, Graham DID keep his word. He did say that short of a meltdown
Edited on Tue Jul-28-09 11:34 AM by DinahMoeHum
he found no real reason to reject her for SCOTUS.
