Rick Sanchez Goes Off On Twitter: Hispanics Working For Fox Have "Sold Out"
CNN host Rick Sanchez is well known for his passionate and prolific use of Twitter, which includes interacting with it when he's on-air. And as his more than 100,000 followers are no doubt aware, he's willing to speak his mind over a tweet.

Well, Friday night Sanchez fired off some particularly entertaining and pointed attacks over Twitter, taking on both comedian Bill Maher and Hispanics who work for Fox. In a series of consecutive tweets Sanchez explained that "if i didn't believe in doing right thing, i'd be rich anchoring at fox news," and then followed up by saying, "do u know how much money i'd make if i'd sold out as hispanic and worked at fox news, r u kidding, one problem, looking in mirror." He then added, "me? what? i live in burbs, wife, four kids, dog, turtle.. two jobs... yeah... i'm a real rich guy, right?"

As for Maher, Sanchez wrote, perhaps after having watched an episode of "Real Time with Bill Maher," "The more I watch bill maher, the more I realize what an opportunist he is. He'll say anything to get people to say ooohh! Even if bs!"

1. I agree about Maher...
But that's his job. He's a comedian, so I don't fault him.

3. That's not entirely true.
He said a lot of things that were very unpopular with his audience just last night.

6. I didn't watch last night, but I think he tends to play to the audience.
Most people who have audiences do just that.

It's not particularly odd.

I think his sell-out meter may need recalibration.

10. I watched him too on Miami's WSVN - a Fox Affiliate
back in the 80s, then he got in some hot water and went to Texas for a while.

I try to watch him each day at 3p, though I'm conflicted because I like MSNBC's David Shuster.

I enjoyed Rick's dressing down of Joe The (non-)Plumber last year.

12. I'm actually kind of surprised to find out he's a liberal because...
As you may know and not to paint with too broad of a brush but The Cuban-American population in Miami does tend to support republicans. Now he lives in Atlanta which is very conservative, needless to say.

7. well, Sanchez works for a station that allows Lou Dobbs to spew his bigotry
i think it's more about what they do. if they are willing to speak out on issues it's one thing. but take ALan Colmes who always held back to not offend the wingnuts too much. that is selling out and being a whore.
