What role do you think George W. Bush played in the Cheney Administration
between the years 2001-2009? Was he a figure head for the diabolical Cheney (who, after all appointed himself VP in 2000 as head of the VP searching committee) or did he have more influence than that?

What do you think?

20. Yes, but made Bush feel like he was the 'decider'
When Bush finally realized he'd been played all along, he refused to pardon Libby.

10. The more I think of the Libby non-pardon, the more I think it was the one
thing Bush could do to Cheney to show that he had some power.

11. Partners
I don't think Cheney manipulated Bush. I think they were on the same page. Bush probably had no problem with the front man role because he didn't like to read long documents (over 2 pages). To pretend Bush was a victim is sickening. He used the powers of the Presidency (enhanced by Addington's unitary executive theory) to evade the rule of law. So while he may have been unqualified for the job he was able to abuse the power of the office to help implement a sinister agenda. He did the PR while Cheney did the actual policy work.

22. W was simply the next in line to get the Bush Crime Family in charge again.
It didn't matter that he's a lazy idiot. Poppy was pulling the strings all along anyway, with Cheney as the designated fall guy. And of course, don't feel sorry for the fall guy because he wanted those policies put in place, too.

31. He was the f ront man. He was the fund raiser. He was the born-again and the AA member. He
was Mr. Macho - all those things that endeared him to their bible-loving voting base.

His staff spent a lot of time coaching him to deliver the message that originated with Cheney and Rumsfeld and their teams. They weren't always successful.

Cheney called the shots, but to keep him animated and eager to get on the aircraft to go to a fundraiser or meet at a G-8 type meeting, they let him believe he was calling the shots. And quite often his revengeful soul took over.

Lots of smoke and mirrors. Lots of chicanery. And lots of prostrated newspeople kissing the ermine trim on his robe. It was Greek and every other type of tragedy and comedy anf a whole lot of farce. Deadly farce.
