2. Ever get the feeling they are relatively unknown, and get the most publicity here?
They're probably a non-entity to the rest of the US.

3. But they LOVE America! (It's other Americans they can't stand.)
(Yeah ... I'm channeling 'American President" ... but it fits. Thanks, Mr. Sorkin.)

5. Conservatives are wannabe authority
They quote verse and scripture and constitutional law whenever it suits them to align themselves with 'authority', and to legitimize their bizarre thinking.

Like high priests, by associating with power that only they can interpret for you, they make themselves powerful. The worst thing in the world to them is someone who doesn't respect their power and authority - you'll find conservative judges don't want to punish people for breaking rules so much as for defying authority.

Oddly, at the extreme opposite end of überliberalism we do the same thing. Maybe it's extremism that brooks no challenges to authority. Hmmmm. Just typing out loud.

6. You're not supposed to notice that
Truly, it doesn't matter since they are cowards venting their teeny-tiny spleens to other cowards and the odd sociopaths who live their. Only the sociopaths are likely to do something...but they probably would have done something violent anyway.

All in all, I think it's pretty clear that they have no idea what the Constitution, freedom, or honor are about.
