BUY AMERICAN: "Those Purchasing A Vehicle Will Recieve An AK-47 With Their Purchase"
Car Dealer Gives AK-47 With Purchase
Dealer Says Similar Promotion Last Year Proved Successful

BUTLER, Mo. -- Those purchasing a vehicle at Max Motors in Missouri will receive an AK-47 assault rifle with their purchase during the month of August.

This is the second consecutive year the dealership has given away vouchers for a firearm as part of a sales promotion.

The logo at Mark Muller's dealership is a nod to his feelings about guns - with an old west caricature pointing two pistols at those who pass by. He said it's a nod to what he calls "big city" ways.

"We really are different than the big city dealers," Muller said.

7. Like my "God Bless America" hat made in China
I thought it was deliciously evil humor. This guy, and the dolts hooked by that deal, are actual life-size evil doers.

12. It's a $450 coupon to a gun store..
.. all applicable laws apply (the person would have to pass an NICS background check, etc.)

13. An actual AK-47 costs upwards of $16,000.00
Being a class III weapon, there are only about 50 dealers in the US authorized to sell them. The importation of AK-47s was banned in 1968 and domestic production for civilian use was prohibited in 1988 or so thus they are not that common.

16. Some info on owning an AK-47
"Importation of NFA weapons was banned by the 1968 Gun Control Act which implemented a "sporting" clause. Only firearms judged by ATF to have feasible sporting applications can be imported for civilian use. Licensed manufacturers of NFA weapons may still, with the proper paperwork, import foreign NFA weapons for research and development purposes, or for government use.

The manufacture of new machine guns that civilians could purchase was effectively banned by language in the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986."

"Violations of the Act are punishable by up to 10 years in federal prison and forfeiture of all devices or firearms in violation, and the individual's right to own or possess firearms in the future. The Act provides for a penalty of $10,000 for certain violations.<4> A willful attempt to evade or defeat a tax imposed by the Act is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $100,000 fine ($500,000 in the case of a corporation), under the general tax evasion statute.<5> For an individual, the felony fine of $100,000 for tax evasion could be increased to $250,000.<6>"

"All NFA items must be registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Private owners wishing to purchase an NFA item must obtain permission from the ATF, obtain a signature from the county sheriff or city or town chief of police (not necessarily permission), pass an extensive background check to include submitting a photograph and finger prints, fully register the firearm, receive ATF written permission before moving the firearm across state lines, and pay a tax. The request to transfer ownership of an NFA item is made on an ATF Form 4."

"The static and relatively small number of transferable automatic firearms has caused their price to be often over $10,000.00..."
