She's got experience. Bush wanted to put Harriet Meyers on the bench, and she has ZILCH experience.

2. i have a problem with her

in that she's not perfect :). iow, she has made a few decision i think are bad on the law. the ricci case is a good example. overall, i think she is eminently qualified and a good jurist. the repubs are doing their job. wanking. dems will do the same thing when a repub president rec's a judge. that's how the game is played. but she IS very qualified, and certainly stronger than harriet meyers who was a complete trainwreck.

They probably hate her too because she has pulled herself up to where she is on her own, not by family money and family position like they did.
I would like to see minority folks in such positions.
