Did anyone else see the "cross" on a Happy Easter NBC promo??
Was watching Deal or no Deal last night, and during a commercial NBC had a screen come up with Happy Easter written in the lower left corner and a huge cross in the middle of the screen!! Anyone else see that?? Never have seen a cross on TV before in a network promotion.

2. Sure, I've seen it alot - local Philly ABC, NBC and CBS channels
when I was growing up. For Passover and Hanukah (sp?), they usually do a Star of David. I've never thought anything about it.

3. Didn't see it but...
Easter is all about the symbol of a cross. They've probably displayed appropriate symbols for other holidays of different faiths, haven't they? Are you objecting to it?

4. I'm not sure what the problem is here.
I'm not a Christian, but I am aware that Easter is a Christian holiday. If you're going to wish people Happy Easter, I don't really see the harm in including a Christian symbol.

Don't celebrate Easter? Then the greeting wasn't for you. Feel free to ignore.

5. Well, you survived the experience.
I think we can all safely say it's not a big deal. All we should really want is the ability for all peoples of all faiths to profess in peace and equality.

I'm not a believer myself, but I'm not offended in the slightest. I don't believe it's true, but that doesn't keep me from enjoying the beautiful aspects of Easter.

6. I've seen this before - regularly at Easter and since I've been a kid
I don't see why it's a big deal, and I'm not religious.

7. It's a Christian holiday
So what? If they used a Star of David for Passover or a crescent for Ramadan, I'd be equally "un-shocked."

9. It's about numbers
and symbols. On St. Paddy's day it's a little green man.

No biggie. Lots of Christians out here, nice to say Happy Easter.

13. If it was there, Jeebus put it there. Why shouldn't Murka be Jeebusified?

14. There's no "separation of church and media" in the Constitution.
It IS Easter, after all. It's a visual cue in a visual medium.
