the reader that something is off.

and with a period after Lawrence for good measure.

4. Scam
It's a bad check cashing scam. They get you to cash bad/fraudulent checks using your bank acct and send the cash to them via Western Union. When your bank finds out the check is bad in a few days and comes to you for payment - they're gone and scamming new people.
I just saw this on the news about two weeks ago. Lots of people fell for it, but just reading the poor grammar and the inappropriate use of caps should alert the reader that something is off.

5. This does not do much for Western Union, either. Sure is giving them a
'bad reputation'.

6. Is this something the Alliance for PS Shorelines received?
Or is the scam FROM the Alliance?

In any event, I hope whoever got it turns it over to the State AG.

8. Well, sometimes the Lads need to fill out the Western Union Re Direction Form
Explain to the Lad after his first transfer payment was accidentally sent to Ouagadougou instead of Accra that he'll now need to fill out this form for any hope of having his money transfered back. It's a cruel world, especially after he has to resubmit the form again, and again, because of mistakes in math.

9. WU is a scam magnet.
I work for a company that also does funds transfer. We had a "phisher" (before the internet was popular) that was pretty slick and effective for a while. After a few close calls (he took off before the police could arrive), we finally caught him. Funny thing, when the police arrested him they not only found lots of our receipts, but hundreds of WU receipts. And WU didn't even know about it!

Interesting ending - he called from the jail's payphone trying to scam us to make his bail.

Since then, we have changed our software and procedures to avoid such "phishing".
