1. FINALLY
Somebody states their opinion on the subject. I thought everyone was going to remain silent and ignore it.

16. I agree. Anyone with a fringe view and five buddies could get the stupidest thread on the greatest
page.

Now there's a little consensus. Some people don't like that. Oh, well.

I wonder if there still remains a bug, or is it something else?

20. Unrecommend can be a positive action, particularly if five disruptors have set out to make DU look
like Flakeville.

If the thread is 'cream,' it will rise to the top.

21. Yes. It's part of the universe. Think of it as agree, disagree.
But to the point of negativity, there is always an opposite. Magnetic poles, electric charges, hot and cold, light and dark. To reject one is to reject them both.

Everything you do in life will be offensive to someone, whether you intend it or not.

19. Why are so many people afraid of this new system?
Are they afraid that there posts will no longer make the greatest page or what? What is stopping people from recommending a post? nothing. Do people have so many enemies around here that people will automatically just unrecommend a post? I think people need to get a grip. Maybe they should just do away with both recommend and unrecommending posts.

23. Controversial threads will get squelched.
None of my threads would have ever made it to the Greatest Page under this system.

But, to each ones own. Lots of people dislike engaging in controversial discussions. Without them, DU might as well be a news feed, imho.

:dem:

22. Well the only way to find new things
is to try new things. I am one that really dislikes change. However I have come to learn that there are many good things out there I would have missed, if not for a willingness to try something new.

25. The reason that I don't like this new unrecommend
feature is because people don't always act like adults on DU and I think that there are even a few bullies around who would intentional sabotage threads to keep them off The Greatest page for no real reason.
