1. Shame he got vitiligo, really bad luck for a darker black man
And a shame people accused him of bleaching. I have a friend of pakistani origin who got the disease as a teenager and he's nearly completely pale white now too.

4. Yes, finally someone mentions it
I was struck by vitiligo about 10 years ago and had a real struggle with accepting it. I'm a white male, too. I've managed to learn little tricks to hide the spots on my face and live with it, but it was a tough psychological blow.

For a man or woman with a dark complexion vitiligo is a horrible, horrible problem. It's very difficult to deal with looking like you've got leprosy.

7. My aunt has it. And even though she is naturally pale,
the discoloration of the affected areas is very noticeable. She's almost fifty, and has had it for as long as I can remember. She is not comfortable with it, and hides as much of her skin as she can, no matter the temperature.

She's a huge fan of Michael Jackson, and she feels a certain kinship with him because they both are(were) affected by the same condition.

6. everybody looks really happy in these photos...
especially his kids. i don't know if that surprises me or not.

i honestly wonder if his children even recognize their father in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_hz2am90Hk or this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hK3Y1Ehv9c

i hope they can happily adjust to their new life, regardless of who it's with/where it is. they are still so young, i doubt they recognize the magnitude of what transpired. but they've been so secluded, so sheltered...the 'real' world is probably a lot different from what they have lived.

8. MJ's friend in the white suit (pics 5 and 8)...
...is title loan king (and Meyer Lansky associate) Al Malnik.

The photos were taken a few years back at Malnik's Miami Beach birthday bash.
