5. Have something to eat. It might help calm you down enough to sleep, army.

15. Because drunk people do things like that
It's not okay but if no one got hurt, it's a big learning lesson and you know you won't ever do it again, right?

Is this drinking till drunk an unusual thing for you or a frequent thing. If it is frequent, you might think about getting help with an addiction. Goodness knows, all the shit in the world can make us feel like drinking our worries away. But, it doesn't work like that- adding alcohol makes personal problems worse and keeps us from confronting the shit out in the world.

18. The first thing alcohol does is ruin your judgment..
It's amazing how fast it happens too, usually well before you even feel drunk.

Hope things get better for you.

9. Drinking and depression are a bad combo
Look, turn off your mind right now, try to rest and if you really feel suicidal, please call 911 or a mental health line.

We can't pull you out of your spiral, only you can. I can say that I would miss your comments and your presence. I want you to be around to fight another day.

14. Sorry you're feeling so bad. Can you sleep?
If so.... things will likely look better in the a.m., most likely. *Better*, not perfect.

"Better" is really good right about now.

Are you going to be ok tonite?

may not be what you are expecting and it may not be ideal but there's always an answer.

7. The world is a strange place to be in right now. I think all of us have
need of a little support to get through the hard times.

It's going to be fine, we're all in this together even if we are struggling to make it in our own way.

Good vibes to you armyowalgreens.

17. Do you have anyone there with you?
It might not be a bad thing to rouse a good friend and have them come stay with you tonight. You should not go out again tonight but neither is tonight a good night to be alone, I would think. A true friend won't mind being woken up at 3am for this sort of stuff (as long as it only happens once in a blue moon).

20. My advice...
go into the kitchen RIGHT NOW and drink a large glass of water. then pour another one and take it with you (put it by your bedside when you lay down).

if you can, try to eat something but DON'T skip the water. Trust me (and don't wait or you'll forget).

good luck, and I hope things look a little better in the morning!

21. This is exactly what I was typing. Drink some water.
Alcohol dehydrates so drink water right now. Food may help too. Get comfortable and lie down.

You will be OK. You're talking to us which is good, but you need to rest. Things WILL look better when you wake up.

Take care, get some sleep. Let us know how you're doing later.

23. I'm going through the same thing.
My mom died in September and since then I've quit my job, blown through my savings, and having never been a drinker I now go through a fifth of vodka every few days just so I can sleep. I don't have any great pearls of wisdom as I'm still in the middle of a deep depression or what I hope is the middle, but I just wanted to say you're not alone.

24. All will be well
Everything unfolds as it should, in its own time and place.

Walk forward one step at a time. You move at your own pace with your own ups and downs. Be well. Take care. Know that others are thinking good thoughts for you.

25. Rule of thumb about drinking
I have one rule about alcohol, I only drink at home. If we go out, I am the designated driver. A DWI can have devastating effects on your life and pocketbook. I have seen too many people killed or injured, and as I long as I only drink at home, I put no one else at peril when I get sauced. I rarely ever get smashed, I just don't like the after effects.

Alcohol does affect your decision making, like one poster pointed out. Everyone knows it, but some choose to ignore that fact. I did my share of ignorant things when I was younger, don't we all? But, I try to learn from my mistakes. MAybe that is what has kept me out of jail all these years.

26. Watch your breath
Concentrate on breathing slowly and evenly. That can help if you are depressed, in a panic, or simply feeling bad.

27. Everything is gonna be ok , and please , if you are going to self medicate use Pot
much more benign than alcohol , and actually helpful.

Nothing though is as helpful as seeing a doctor , if this is an ongoing issue and not a onetime thing
