4 minute consolidation on '60 Minutes' - Michael Jackson. In his own words.

Those first 20 seconds sum up a hell of a lot in our country's media.

Regardless of anything he's done or claimed to have done -- that does not apply right now. Forget the messenger. LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE.

Especially if you are against what you think he did. WHY did he do it? ANALYZE. FIND OUT. Prevent these things from happening again. Or is it more fun just to be hateful and make sick comments?

We're sick at something which may or may not happen.

We, especially as a society, need to find a mirror instead of another person. Michael Jackson was fuggin' NORMAL compared to our society as a whole and what it allows.

1. I think the worst thing I can say about MJ is that he was naive in
many ways. He had an innocence about him.

3. That was my impression, too.
Much of his work was stunning, and many parts of his life story were sad and beyond weird.

I didn't follow his career closely, but definitely saw his childlike naiveté. Sullivan's column is spot on.

RIP, Michael.

4. Agreed.
I know firsthand what molesters do.

No, I am not a molester and I think molesters should be put to death slowly.

For I was molested. By two people in my childhood.

Taunted and later assaulted by a third.

Different tactics they all had, but watching MJ -- he sounds sincere and not scripted. I've watched a lot of scripted videos lately and even I can tell the nuances and shifts in cadence. MJ is naive. Not willfully being cruel, abusive, or anything else.

I know enough. The man was innocent.

5. It takes a lot of courage to share that Q. Thanks for that.
I have a friend of 30 years who was molested repeatedly as a child. She expressed similar thoughts to me today. I trust her, too.

7. Thanks for sharing. The more I've heard since his death the more I
believe it will be found he was poorly directed by people he thought had his best interests in mind. I am so glad to hear from you, in that you know things most of us don't. My opinion of MJ is only a gut feeling about him.
