1. Thanks. Finally some videos on MTV. A great way to honor this great musical talent.

2. It was said that MJ broke the "color barrier" on MTV.
Before him, there were virtually no artists of color shown on MTV.

"Billie Jean" was the big breakthrough.

He should be remembered for that, at least....

3. Where would MTV be without Michael Jackson?
Besides his groundbreaking videos, people forget that he almost single-handedly "integrated" that network.

Before "Thriller," it was exclusively Rock, no R&B (and of course, no rap, soul, etc.) Jackson made the network execs change their minds...

4. It's really amazing how good looking he was in his prime.
I had forgotten about all these old videos.

9. "The Way You Make Me Feel" is playing now.
Truth to tell, I wasn't a **huge** fan -- had a couple of his albums -- but he did revolutionize the music video with coherent, cohesive storytelling and choreography. Very watchable. Anyone who questions his importance to American pop culture and music needs to watch this to get some understanding of why his death is such a great loss along the lines of Presley and Lennon. I don't think that's hyperbole, either.
