5. She came and went. Was nice a while back, seems to have had problems for

a while. Was not so nice several months ago, took a break and came back with an apology. Looks like went out blazing today.

Sometimes was very nice, other times was very un-nice. I am always sad to see people who seem to be having issues flame out here. I wish we had more affordable, accessible non-stigmatic mental health care available as we all could use it at times.

I figured it was far, far better to start to smack down the trolls who have been here since the founding of the site.

They are still here, to this day. There are always a few, a very few, trolls who on any forum manage to stay. And yes, we do have them, but I can't and won't mention names.

34. I think the DU owners need to recognize that all of us go through good and bad periods.

Some more extreme, some less. And the board is a home for people (all of us) who are less than perfect. Sometimes someone goes out of bounds for a while, but "ignore" should be the first reaction rather than "kill." There are some posters who have been allowed for years although nothing they have posted has ever been anything but RW crap and insults, but they are controlled (and devious) enough to evade banning.

I recognize the name, but can't say I have any particular impression (faintly negative or positive, or both maybe, nothing very strong). And I recall a banning of another poster who seemed to contribute regularly and constructively, but apparently got into a fight with some mods (you suck! - No you suck! - asshole - shithead!....). I think the justification was 19 warnings and replies) during a drunk or a manic phase.

I think DU would be better if it was less likely to ban based on occasional bad days and maybe a bit more attentive to reducing the number of posters who have never contributed anything useful and especially those who are always destructive.

I don't know all the posts in question and the mods here are usually very fair, but, I do wonder if warnings are given as much as people assume before a TSing. We all must take some responsibility for our own behavior. I had breeze on and off ignore because of personal attacks on people, then I would clear my ignore list, not that she was doing OK, only to see her rip into people personally.

I have bad days, weeks, months. I try to stay away when I am at my worst. You all don't deserve me at my maddest. I care enough about DU to try and not be bad to everyone, just the asses who really need to be busted in the chops (usually for personal attacks on others). It isn't that hard to STFU when one is too hostile to be constructive.
