Anyone On Operation Bite Watch? (Making A Pot Of Coffee & Staying Up Late?)
randi was talking about this on her show today,
malloy mentioned it tonight

i wonder if some shit starts hitting the fan around 4 am (is that eastern time?) will cnn cover it as much as they did w/ "shock & awe"?

i suspect the iranian press would report it sooner but i don't know of any iranian websites so i'll probably have to just wait & see what our liberal media tells us later in the morning.

to be honest, i don't know if i believe this story. but...with all the crazy shit that goes on who knows?

this article is not about "operation bite" but it is about us & iran:

"ABC News Exclusive: The Secret War Against Iran
April 03, 2007 5:25 PM

A Pakistani tribal militant group responsible for a series of deadly guerrilla raids inside Iran has been secretly encouraged and advised by American officials since 2005, U.S. and Pakistani intelligence sources tell ABC News.

The group, called Jundullah, is made up of members of the Baluchi tribe and operates out of the Baluchistan province in Pakistan, just across the border from Iran.

It has taken responsibility for the deaths and kidnappings of more than a dozen Iranian soldiers and officials.

U.S. officials say the U.S. relationship with Jundullah is arranged so that the U.S. provides no funding to the group, which would require an official presidential order or "finding" as well as congressional oversight.

Tribal sources tell ABC News that money for Jundullah is funneled to its youthful leader, Abd el Malik Regi, through Iranian exiles who have connections with European and Gulf states.

8. Hmm...
With the military as stretched as it is... I don't think so
However, you never know what the nutty guy at the white house might do.
Perhaps the rumor was staged so Iran would not mess around about the hostages?

Thanks to those who plan on staying up but I'm skeptical. It would be a very bad mistake by the US.

10. This rumor was out there long before the Brits were taken
But once there was a hostage crisis, a lot of folks who know about "Bite" started holding our breath.

Critical Crossroads

A recent Russian press report, quoting intelligence sources, has sounded an alarm. According to a RIA-Novosti report, quoted by the European and Israeli press (Jerusalem Post), the US is planning to initiate air attacks on Iran under " Operation Bite", starting on Good friday, April 6th, targeting both military and civilian sites, including Iran's air defense system:.

"Russian military intelligence services are reporting a flurry of activity by U.S. Armed Forces near Iran's borders, a high-ranking security source said Tuesday.

"The latest military intelligence data point to heightened U.S. military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran," the official said, adding that the Pentagon has probably not yet made a final decision as to when an attack will be launched.

He said the Pentagon is looking for a way to deliver a strike against Iran "that would enable the Americans to bring the country to its knees at minimal cost."

He also said the U.S. Naval presence in the Persian Gulf has for the first time in the past four years reached the level that existed shortly before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

Col.-Gen. Leonid Ivashov, vice president of the Academy of Geopolitical Sciences, said last week that the Pentagon is planning to deliver a massive air strike on Iran's military infrastructure in the near future"

While the Russian report must be acknowledged, there is, however, no corroborating evidence, which would enable us to pinpoint the exact timeline of a military attack on Iran.

Moreover, there are several important factors which suggest, from a military organizational standpoint, that unless we are dealing with a case of sheer political madness, the Pentagon is not ready to launch an attack on Iran. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=CHO20070401&articleId=5247

15. I figured that, given Bush's total detachment from the Iran issue, but could you comment?

16. sure, i actually blogged about it...
because I was getting so many emails:

It would be an understatement if I said I am near panic about the current Iran crisis. But before I dive into the latest developments, I want to address a report going around of a Russian general's allegations that the US is planning an air attack on Iran this April 6. I have gotten a large amount of emails about this article, in which a high ranking Russian general describes a US code-named ops called "Operation Bite."

While I find it highly likely that the US led six year covert war on Iran is likely about to spill over into prime-time, I have not been able to verify the claims made in that article. I have spent the last few days speaking to folks and no one finds this credible, and all for the same reasons. Moreover, no one has heard the April 6 date stated and no one finds the alloted time of 12 hours doable. Finally, everyone found the use of a single word for the ops - "Bite" rather suspect. The military rarely uses single word op names, but especially so under this administration who prefers long, sweeping patriotic sentiments such as Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq) and Operation Copper Green (rendition and detainment).

Or as one of my journalist friends said: "Operation Eradicate Tyranny" is far more their style. I tend to agree with this sentiment.

So while I do not claim to be right here, I did want to express my skepticism and to answer the horde of emails coming at me about this article. In the end, anything is possible of course.
