Clinton fractures elbow in fall
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8106327.stm

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has fractured her right elbow in a fall, her chief of staff has said.

Mrs Clinton had been on her way to the White House when she fell on Wednesday afternoon, her chief of staff Cheryl Mills said in a statement.

The secretary of state was treated at The George Washington University Hospital and then went home.

She is to have surgery to repair her elbow in the coming week, Cheryl Mills said.

2. Can we ever get sensible shoes to be fashionable?
If men had to tip around on the heels women wear, I bet they'd break more bones too.

8. thats why i dont understand why WOMEN do it
I havent worn high heels since Moses wore short pants. they have got to be the most ridiculous idea ever foisted on the female gender since chastity belts. if women 'fall' for them, then complain , they need to ask themselves..why am I wearing these things?

9. Because other women tell them to.
A female action character on a TV show was dressed head to toe in a skin tight jump suit. When interviewed about her costume, which included 2 inch heels, she was asked what an action character was doing in 2 inch heels. Her response was "if you’re going to walk around with a body stocking, I want to see you pad around in flats, it’s not happening." I frequently tell my wife to wear flats, she always looks at me like I'm crazy. It's other women who pressure her to wear them.

10. sort of like an S and M club
if another woman told me to wear heels I would laugh and laugh.
seriously, tho, my mother wore heels for years and her calf muscles are atrophied now. she uses a walker and the pain in her legs is horrible. shes 83 and has to wear a slight heel on her shoes or its unbearable for her. her calf muscles shrank to compensate for the shoes she always wore.
I like no shoes or flats.
I honestly think heels represent a 'hobbling' effect on women..in a way, they create the image of the crippled woman who cannot run freely. I wonder about the psychological reasoning behind that idea.

15. Hilary wears high heels? I find that hard to believe. I think
she, of anybody would wear very practical shoes.
But she did fall.
Wait a minute, has she been drinking?

3. I'm Glad She's Got Good Insurance
My broken elbow cost me $6,000 out of pocket, with insurance! It also allowed BC/BS to deny me a future policy.

13. Another transparent play for sympathy, that's what it is!
First Judge Sotomayor and now Secretary of State Clinton. It's a conspiracy, I tells ya. I don't know what the ultimate objective of this conspiracy is, but you can be sure it's e-e-e-e-e-vil. Keep watching Fox. They'll know.
