Pat Buchanan prefers the 'old bigotry' to affirmative action
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/06/buchanan_prefers_the_old_bigotry_to_affirmative_ac.php?ref=m1

"Thus, Sotomayor got into Princeton, got her No. 1 ranking, was whisked into Yale Law School and made editor of the Yale Law Review -- all because she was a Hispanic woman. And those two Ivy League institutions cheated more deserving students of what they had worked a lifetime to achieve, for reasons of race, gender or ethnicity.

This is bigotry pure and simple. To salve their consciences for past societal sins, the Ivy League is deep into discrimination again, this time with white males as victims rather than as beneficiaries.

One prefers the old bigotry. At least it was honest, and not, as Abraham Lincoln observed, adulterated "with the base alloy of hypocrisy."

How much clear-cut can it be that Pat Buchanan's a racist? If a young white skinhead yelled the N-word in public everyone would condemn him and shout him down. But because crazy but lovable 'Uncle Pat' presents his views under a cloak of reasonability, people are more likely to fall for it.

Come on MSNBC. Time to give crazy 'Uncle Pat' the boot.

1. Who would know more about "old bigotry" than Pat the Old Bigot.

5. So GW's family connections had nothing to do with him getting into top private universities?
Does old Pat complain because there always was "affirmative action" for the wealthy and connected? Does he weep for the deserving students who were "cheated" because wealthy and connected underperformers like GW always have been in the front of the line to get into these institutions?

6. It's almost funny listening to him on this topic
His voice rises and cracks to reveal his hurt and despair, that a white man might suffer so much as a hint of discrimination.

Sure he prefers the old kind of bigotry; it didn't affect that segment of society so tender to his heart: the white men!
