IN THE NEWS:

The New York State Senate, which was taken over by Democrats for the first time in 40 years in January, is now back in the hands of Republicans due to two Democratic defections in a deal more about screwing tenants and avoiding a tax increase on the wealthy, but the fate of the LGBT and AIDS agendas are up in the air including a late-breaking story that out gay Senator Tom Duane is in negotiations with the new Republican-led caucus about bringing the marriage equality bill to the floor.

The Obama administration defends the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy in court, but will they defend DOMA? We will show you the President's answer to a question from Brian Williams of NBC on whether gay couples seeking to marry have a friend in the White House.

A March on Washington for LGBT equality is proposed for October 11. Ann and Andy will debate its advisability.

The Church of Sweden elects an out lesbian as Bishop of Stockholm.

Hundreds march in California to protest budget cuts to AIDS services.

Get ready for Adam Lambert's coming out in Rolling Stone next week.

Andy reviews "Next Fall," a play about a gay male couple--one an atheist, the other washed in the blood of the lamb.
