Is this creepy, or is it just me?
This from our local newspaper:

Funeral Home to Host Blood Drive Next Month

Adamson Funeral Home will hold a blood drive, breakfast and barbecue in July to honor a longtime employee who set a record for blood donation in Weld County.

John Seitz, owner of Adamson Funeral and Cremation, announced on Saturday the details of the inaugural blood drive in honor of Robert “Dutch” Feuerstein. The event will take place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Adamson's, 2000 47th Ave, on July 11, according to a press release.

Feuerstein has been an Adamson employee since 1983. He has donated 27 gallons of whole blood, which is a Weld County record, the release stated.

The event is open to the public. To be eligible to give blood, you must be age 17 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.

If you're morbid like me you can see the dark humor in it though.

2. I don't know how big this town is. But in many smaller towns a funeral home is one of the more
prominent businesses and often host community events (besides putting on funerals). It's no big deal.

I have donated 16 gallons of blood in my lifetime. It's something I'm kind of proud of because it's the gift of life and costs nothing to give and makes a huge difference to those who get it. I'm O+
