characteristics of the person being discussed. Why should anything about Rush dictate whether we stick to our principles? Are we the party of empathy? That includes empathy for drug addicted individuals? Or do we have empathy only when it's convenient and easy?

I just didn't defend Rush because I don't like him alot and he has said alot of inflammatory and untrue things. I never(maybe rarely) use name calling myself because of the reasons you mention.

I'd also hate if anyone dismissed anything I said because at some point in my life I've used drugs and I'm talking about substances stronger and more addicting then cannabis.

I enjoy your show very much and think you make many good points. However, I wish you would stop calling Rush Limbaugh "the Drugstar" for the reasons below.

1-It distracts from the seriousness of the issues you're addressing. You're making very good points about important issues but I believe they get lost when you do this name-calling.
2-Substance addiction is a serious condition that many good Americans struggle with.
3-I believe that if you can't make your point without name-calling and personal insults, then your point is not worth making. Further, you convince your opponents that you have no valid point. Your points are CERTAINLY worth making and I believe can be made more effectively without personal attacks.

There are A LOT of people in this county, who have and have had to swallow and eat a lot of pain, because of people like the junkie "drugster" Rush. The son of a bitch deserves a hell of a lot worse than what he has received or could ever be called, and that wimpy bastard could not take two steps in my boots, let alone walk a mile.

I do not give a rat's ass if your drug problem is abusing prescription drugs or illegal drugs... Taste a little causalgia or any other legitimate pain for ONE day, then come to me with sympathy or empathy about self induced problems of "drugsters."
