Lou Dobbs - an incredible offer to every candidate
He just made this offer to both side, to each candidate. He will give them uninterrupted 3 minutes of airtime (per issue) if they agree to discuss the issues that are near and dear to his heart - immigration, health care, and a bunch of others.

I do believe that he just made his show Must Watch TV.

3. I actually think this is a GREAT offer - no matter who made it.

Any COMPETENT and confident candidate should accept this without hesitation. Kerry would have LOVED an opportunity like this in 2004.

5. three minutes of free air time, and you have a captive audience of
400,000 now, and probably 600,000 when word gets around. THAT is some offer.

6. About 4% of the population considers immigration an important issue
Lou needs to start going to KKK cross burnings to find some like minded individuals. If he hasn't been already.

8. QUESTION: Which GOPers will accept his offer?
and which ones won't?

Next QUESTION: Which Democrats will accept this offer?

9. Take him up on that Offer!
Every Democratic Candidate should be lining up for this offer...and I am sure that he will be very pleased with the increase in ratings for his show.

11. I trust Dobbs about as far as I can kick an anvil
So, is Lou going to frame the debate and ask the questions?

How will he (and CNN) frame responses to the candidates statements?

17. Uninterrupted 3 minute answers is still better than any interview offer from any other
host, at this point.

A solid performing candidate should be able to do PLENTY with that 3 minutes.

13. If Those Are His Pet Issues That Should Be Fine With All Of Us
Because those are important issues that need be addressed under the bright light of public scrutiny. I don't happen to think they are the most important issues that face this country but that's me and I'm not him.

15. a monopoly on candidate position statements would be sand
in the machinery of Faux. MSNBC would probably follow suit somehow, with tweety or mr. bowtieless doing something similar.

16. Dobbs has never given any indication that he gives a rats ass about health care
but then again, maybe his issue is making sure only some people can get it.
