AGAIN...We don't want the gov't between you and your doctor...LIES!
Edited on Tue Jun-02-09 02:43 PM by glarius
On MSNBC that Tamron dame is talking to a Republican spouting this line again. This is of course their reference to Canada's health coverage. He also just said we don't want the government deciding what care you can have. These are all lies! In Canada (and the other democracies with Universal care) the doctors are chosen by the patients and the doctors make all medical decisions!!!! THE GOVERNMENT PAYS THE BILLS .... PERIOD!...They do NOT have anything to do with medical decisions!! With these scare tactics, unless someone on your media reveals this truth, I can't see you getting Universal health care.
P.S...I've posted a similar message several times in the past, but it makes me so angry when I hear the lies, I had to do it again!

4. why don't they care about the for profit insurance company
between you and your doctor?

After all the 'for profit' insurance company does better the worse care your doctor provides.

5. I know they are lies but I
also would much rather a government bureaucrat with no worries about profit margin be making decisions than a for profit insurance company middle management person worried about losing his/her job if she approves too much. Ot worse is forced to deny care more often than not just to keep their job like now.

8. Doctors in no way make the decisions now. We're fighting that battle
at this very moment. Hubby is an amputee, who had a new prosthesis made last year. We pay for the super-duper health care through his company, so it pays for 100% of the prosthesis. Last year's prosthesis ran about $30,000. Since the beginning of this year, though, he's lost over 50 pounds, and it has changed the shape of his stump dramatically. The doctor knows DH can no longer wear the prosthesis he has, because of the change...it rubs and causes sores and bleeding. He needs a new one and the doctor has written a letter to the insurance company, explaining very specifically why a new leg is necessary and why he can no longer use the one he has.

This is looking to be a long fight, despite the doctor stating very clearly that without the new prosthesis, DH doesn't walk.

10. I thought this was about the abortion debate.
Where the repukes certainly DO want the government between you and your doctor.

In fact, they want the government involved in all the private areas of your life, but when it comes to car safety, cleaning up pollution, or ensuring the safety of the food supply, you're on your own.

11. Yes, it's so much nicer having a profit-motivated insurance company
between you and your doctor...they always do what's right for the patient, regardless of the cost. :eyes:

What idiot would believe a word these people say? Think, people, THINK!
