My email to Fox News
Following is the text of an email I just sent to Fox News, after listening to a replay of Fox News Sunday earlier today:

Dear Sir or Madam:

Listening to a rebroadcast of "Fox News Sunday" on C-span Radio today, I was astonished when one of the hosts announced a new segment of the show. This new segment, it was stated, will be dedicated to a discussion of the future of the Republican Party.

Why is Fox News, the supposedly "fair and balanced" network, implementing a new segment of it Sunday morning show for a discussion of the future of the Republican Party?

I do not recall Fox News Sunday dedicating an ongoing segment of its show to the future of the Democratic Party during the eight years of the George W. Bush administration. I'd also suggest that eyebrows would have been raised had any network done so.

It would appear to me that Fox News is nothing more than an one big Op/Ed for the Republican Party, disguised under the cloak of journalism. As an American citizen, and as someone with a degree in Mass Media Arts/Print Journalism, this offends me.

During the years that I matriculated through college to attain my journalism degree, one of the first, basic principles we learned was the distinguishment of hard news reporting versus writing op/eds. This is a line that Fox News continues to blur on a daily basis.

One of the hardest jobs that any party has when they are out of the White House, is how to get their message out when they don't have the Rose Garden as their backdrop. But it is that party's job to get their message out in spite of not having the bulley pullpit of the White House. It is not the job of any network to help carry that party's message or devote ongoing discussion to the future of that party.

3. Thank You....I wonder if anyone over there cares? They are
a horrible organization. I wish they would be ignored as a news source. They haven't the first clue as to what responsible journalism is. It's disgusting what they spout off daily as "fair and balanced."

6. I agree. I hate for any Dem to go on Fox. They should be
completely ignored. They make up crap anyway. Their faithful viewers aren't going to open their minds anytime soon.

7. Don't miss the film "Outfoxed" for . . .
. . . the real deal on Faux News. AND . . . FNC's influence on the rest of MSM broadcasters.

It's scary, indeed. :scared:

8. K&R They should be challenged
at every turn. At every opportunity, on radio, TV or the written media, it should be pointed out that Fox has no credibility.

We can get a message out there on behalf of our side. That message should be that Fox News is the propaganda arm of the GOP. Thing is, we have truth on our side.

9. You sent that to the wrong place...
Change "bulley" to "bully" and send it off as a letter to the editor, NY Times and your local paper.

13. I agree. The staff at Fox News will have a good laugh at it and pitch it in the wastepaper basket
They know anyone who is a loyal viewer will never disagree with their views or how they present the news. That being said, welcome to DU!! :hi:

11. And the response from Faux News.
Dear Sir or Madam:

You're just figuring this out now? Tough shit, we can do whatever we want, just try and stop us. Nyah, nyah.

-----

Not to belittle what you did. I think it's a great letter and with minor modification should be sent to other outlets as commentary on Fox.
