Sestak Gets Key Primary Endorsement

Sen. Arlen Specter's (D-PA) last general election challenger -- former Rep. Joe Hoeffel (D-PA) -- told the Delaware County Daily Times that he would back Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA) in a primary against Specter.

Said Hoeffel: "If Joe Sestak runs in the primary, I will support him. I admire him very much and think he will be a strong candidate for whatever he runs for, including reelection."

And a little trivia (doesn't sound so trivial)...

Retired Navy Vice Admiral Joe Sestak (D-PA) is the highest-ranking military officer ever elected to Congress or to serve in the House of Representatives.

1. GOOD! Saw corpoDem Rendell on TV discouraging Sestak to protect Specter. Made me sick.

2. I saw him, too. I sincerely hope Sestak goes for it. As Ed said,
the old fat cats we're so used to seeing could do with some competition.

3. Good news, but I"m not optimistic sadly.

If our party's current trajectory of reverence to the status quo is any indication Specter will win and we'll have helped him do it. My prediction anyway, but its my calling to be cynical.

4. It's still early. Who knows what will happen? I think a lot will depend
on how Specter 'proves' he's seen the (Dem) light.

5. PA labor has been sending Arlen a pretty clear message...
...Ads here and flyers in my mailbox encouraging him to support the union free choice bill....like he did two years ago.
We'll see. I'll work for Sestak, I like him a lot.
