You see, it's real easy to support dictatorial powers for the leader, as long as you like the leader and support his policies.

Obama Is Said to Consider Preventive Detention Plan (Flush the Constitution!)
NY Slimes (Page A18!!!) ^ | 5/21/2009 | SHERYL GAY STOLBERG

WASHINGTON — President Obama told human rights advocates at the White House on Wednesday that he was mulling the need for a “preventive detention” system that would establish a legal basis for the United States to incarcerate terrorism suspects who are deemed a threat to national security but cannot be tried, two participants in the private session said.

Yes, that is a huge possibility with these power hungry monsters in the White House!

My worst nightmare is that HolyO starts having conservative talk show hosts rounded up for ‘treason’ for blatantly calling him and his congressional flunkies on their every anti-American actions—seriously, will the rest of America realize the danger we are in when we see Rush Limbaugh marched through town in chains and leg manacles? Or will there be great cheering that the ‘Republican leader’ and Obama naysayer is finally done ‘hogging the airwaves’ with his treasonous, seditious mouth-flapping? :-O

*heavy sigh of sorrow at where my country seems to be heading—WHILE AMERICA SLEEPS*

1. The best part is...
"... when we see Rush Limbaugh marched through town in chains and leg manacles."

I have chains if they need them. :bounce:

You love expanded presidential power-but what happens when the presidents name is-Hillary Clinton? (said around 2006-2007).

The Congressman just had a sick smile on his face-and no response.

The Freepers have no integrity and no brains and no love for their country.

That part about conservatives being marched down the street made my day. I personally don't want any president to have the power to do that, even to those that deserve it. It's so much worse to see a supposed progressive use these tactics. With bush, at least we expected the rethugs to act this way. It is fun to see the freepers crapping like that though.

12. I never thought I'd agree w freepers
Just like bush--Obama has united us in opposing this absolutely appalling, paranoid idea of detention without habeas corpus, trial, or sentencing.

The idea that it's okay when it's "your" leader that's doing it is absolutely spot on--those who think it's so great because it's Obama, will not be happy when a republican or some variation thereof finally gets back into power and modifies it to suit his or her definition of people "who might be dangerous" and need to be locked up without charges being brought, evidence presented, or a trial. A decade or two from now, you might find yourself whisked out of an antiwar rally and sent away somewhere indefinitely and will have Obama to thank.
