1. Aren't most of the primaries very soon after that?
Including California? and in a place like california, the rich people win... more likely than not.

Still, it is my hope that a majority stand against Hillary.

3. yes, but as we've seen in other years such as '04 the early states like Iowa and NH can have an
effect on other states because the media will be talking about the "winners" in those states.

6. Hope you are right... but with so many delegates being chosen right afterwards
... i kinda doubt it.

I remember when it came down to california in '72. Primary held in June.

2. Wow, I was saying three months ago Edwards, not Clinton, was the one to watch out for.
I hadn't seen much movement from him and was starting (foolish as it sounds) to doubt my own wisdom.

Iowa should be his to lose. The make-break state for the Democrats has always been South Carolina. Not sure the schedule can sustain that status this time tho.

and the Des Moines Register even endorsed him.

20. It's always been Edwards. Period. If not Gore, Edwards.
I'll be surprised if Hilary really beats him.

10. Any link to the poll (rather than the DKos discussion of the poll)?
I have seen some limited reporting of the poll results (e.g., http://www.press-citizen.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070403/NEWS01/70403007/1079/NEWS01), but I cannot find all the data.

This University of Iowa poll would seem to show some movement from this month's earlier ARG Iowa poll:

34% - Clinton
33% - Edwards
16% - Obama
2% - Biden
2% - Clark
1% - Dodd
1% - Kucinich
1% - Richardson

22. When did "he" lose his home state? Are you talking about Kerry in 04?
It's a much different country than it was back then. I think of all the dems Edwards has the best chance to gain some southern states.

23. Yes in '04 as the VP on the ticket.
Typically your VP carries his home state and he should have delivered more of the south.

12. Not surprised.
He has campaigned hard in Iowa, visiting at least 10 times since the 2004 election. He should be leading there.

14. I would tend to agree.
Edwards is counting on a strong showing if not a win in Iowa, keeping pace in NH then grabbing the SC primary.

That would put him in good shape for the new Super Tues on the Feb 5th.

He's the best candidate that has a shot at it, so I'm going to work for him. :patriot: :patriot: :patriot:

18. He got 32% in 2004
It's kind of surprising he hasn't moved up any more than that, considering how much time he's spent there.
